Dinner with strangers

Go for dinner. Leave with friends.

Every week we seat a small group near you at a good local restaurant, matched by age and shared interests. Nobody at the table knows anybody else. You just show up.

How a table comes together

Matched, not random. We put the group together so the conversation works.

All you do is show up.

Matched near you

A small group in your city, at a restaurant close enough that you could plausibly see each other again next week.

Grouped by age and interests

We build the table around age and shared interests, so there is something to talk about from the first hello.

Booked for you

We choose and book the restaurant, and you see the venue before you go. Nothing about the night is a surprise.

What we match on, exactly

It is your evening and your money, so there is no mystery about who ends up at your table.

  • Your age

Tables are built from people close to your age, not a random spread of the whole app.

  • Your interests

Shared interests seed the conversation, so the table has something to talk about from the first hello.

  • Your area

People near you, at a restaurant close enough that seeing each other again is actually realistic.

Before you book a seat, you see

  • The restaurant, with the day and time of the table.
  • The kind of table it is, so you know the vibe you are walking into.
  • The booking fee, up front. Never after.

And if a table does not look right for you, you simply do not book it.

What a KF.Social table is

A small, pre-booked group meal where nobody knows anybody else beforehand.

A KF.Social dinner is a small table of people near you, seated together at a local restaurant that we choose and book. The table is small on purpose: big enough that the conversation never goes quiet, small enough that everyone gets talk-time. You do not organise anything and you do not need to bring anyone.

It is built around a real meal because a meal gives conversation a natural rhythm and a reason to stay in one place long enough for real talk to happen. Overwhelmingly, the people who book are in exactly your position: new to a city, rebuilding a social circle after a life change, tired of scrolling, or simply curious.

How the night actually goes

Low-stakes, and easier than it sounds.

  1. Your table forms and you meet the group

You see who is coming before the night, and a private gem opens just for your table. Say hello early, and if anyone is running late it is a message, not a mystery.

  2. You arrive and find your table

The restaurant is booked and waiting. You meet a handful of people who are exactly as slightly nervous as you are.

  3. The first few minutes are a little awkward

That is normal, and it passes quickly. Everyone is starting from the same place, which is exactly what makes it easy.

  4. The middle stretch flies by

You order and eat together and talk for a couple of hours. A shared meal keeps the conversation moving on its own.

  5. You head home on your own terms

No pressure to go anywhere afterwards, and no obligation beyond being yourself. You leave having met people you would not have met any other way.

Safe by design

Public venues, a small group, no isolation.

Always a public venue

You are in a public restaurant, with several other people, at a set time. There is no isolation and no pressure to move on anywhere afterwards.

The blue tick

Any person at your table can confirm who they are with an ID check, so you can see the blue tick before you meet.

You know who is coming

You see the people at your table before the night, and a private gem opens for the group. If someone is running late, it is a message, not a mystery.

The booking fee, in plain words

Clear pricing, no dark patterns.

What it is

  • A small fee that reserves your seat at the table.
  • What keeps tables reliable, so groups do not collapse when people drop out.
  • Shown before you pay, every single time. Never after.

What it is not

  • Not a membership. No subscription hiding behind a dinner.
  • Not your dinner bill. Food and drink are paid at the restaurant, like any meal out.
  • Not a shared pot. No awkward splitting of a group bill and nobody covering anyone else.

If there is ever a fee, we tell you before you pay. Not after.

Never open with "so, what do you do?"

Every table needs a first question. Draw a card and try it at your next dinner.

The best tables start somewhere better than job titles. These are the kinds of questions KF.Social dinners run on: easy to answer, hard to stop answering.

Dinner questions, answered

What is a dinner with strangers?
It is a small, pre-booked group meal where nobody knows anybody else beforehand. On KF.Social, we match a small group near you by age and shared interests, book a local restaurant, and you just show up.
How many people are at a table?
A small group, kept small on purpose. It is large enough that the conversation never stalls if one pairing goes quiet, and small enough that everyone gets talk-time.
How does the matching work?
It is matched, not random. We put the group together using three things: your age, your shared interests, and your area. We choose and book the restaurant, and you see the venue, the day and the time before you book a seat. If a table does not look right for you, you simply do not book it.
Is dinner with strangers safe?
The group format is a large part of why it is safe. You are in a public restaurant, with several other people, at a set time, so there is no isolation and no pressure to go anywhere afterwards. Any person at your table can also confirm who they are with an ID check, so you can see the blue tick before you meet.
How much does it cost?
You pay a small booking fee to reserve your seat, which keeps tables reliable so groups do not collapse when people drop out. It is not a membership and not your dinner bill. Your food and drink are separate, paid at the restaurant like any other meal out.
Do I know who is coming to dinner?
Yes. Once your table forms, you see who is coming before the night, and any person at the table can confirm who they are with an ID check, so you can see the blue tick before you meet. A private gem also opens just for your table, so you can say hello early or let the group know if you are running late.
Who actually books these dinners?
Overwhelmingly, people in exactly your position: new to a city, rebuilding a social circle after a life change, tired of scrolling, or simply curious. Everyone at the table is starting from the same place, which is what makes it easy.
